During the application process, you will be required to:
- Submit an initial application form
This application form will be used to assess your suitability according to the minimum entry requirements outlined above and conduct an initial assessment of your written English, including spelling and punctuation.
- Take part in a preliminary interview
This interview will be used to ascertain your suitability for the program based on the additional entry requirements (link to entry requirements) outlined above, as well as provide you with an overview of the nature of the program. During this interview, an assessment will also be made on your spoken English and classification as a native-level English speaker.
- Complete a pre-interview task
This is an academic task, is after your preliminary interview, and is designed to assess your ability to research language and methodology. This task is referred to during the academic interview whereby you are asked to expand on your answers.
- Take part in an academic interview
This interview is used to ascertain your academic suitability for the course. During the interview, you will be asked to expand on your answers to the pre-interview task and converse in more detail about your current understanding of language teaching and learning.
- Complete a written task
This task is used to assess your written English, including spelling, punctuation, structure and organisation of ideas. This is a timed, hand-written task.
- Scholarship application
If you are interested in applying for the scholarship (link to scholarship page) aspect of our program, then complete one of the essays and submit it after the academic interview to the Admissions Team.
The length of the process is normally dependent on your availability for interview (all interviews are conducted via Skype or Google Hangouts) and completion of tasks. On average applicants take around 2 to 3 weeks to fully complete the application process. This includes completing all interviews, interview tasks and awaiting a final decision. Additionally, subsequent to being accepted you will be required to provide some requested documentation, prior to the course start date, which can also take some time for applicants to compile and gather together.
